Description

The Blanchon Athen is a water-based, odourless wood floor lacquer, that does not require mixing with a hardener. Its ability to dry and harden quickly ensures a rapid return to the use of the premises upon completion.

With very high build qualities, Athen is ideal for all properly prepared interior wood floors. It can be applied on all commonly used types of wood and highlights light-coloured woods whilst preserving their original colour.

The Blanchon Athen Floor Lacquer is available in 2 colourless finishes: clear satin and clear matt.

Application

Blanchon Athen should only be applied onto wood that has been taken back to bare and evened out by sanding. The surface should be free of dust and traces of detergent, grease, wax, polish, linseed oil and any other special oils.

Shake well before use. Apply 3 even and generous coats with a roller, graining brush or brush (for edges or small areas). The slightly milky appearance of the liquid will disappear within a few minutes as it dries.

Once the first coat has dried, a light sanding with a buffing machine (fine sanding disc) is recommended. The floor should then be carefully vacuumed cleaned. Do not use steel wool.

If more than 24 hours has elapsed between coats, sanding is essential.
Maintenance
Remove dust frequently with a vacuum cleaner (or a broom), accompanied by regular wet wiping (well-wrung cloth/mop)
